The program consists of two phases:
Phase I
Phase I is executing the steps of the “Storehouse Ready: Preparing for Life’s Events” Budget Planner to create a household budget for management of household expenses and includes strategies for building an emergency fund. The 5-Step approach to begin budgeting is as follows:
At Step 1 you will list all your creditors; Step 2 You will list all your annual expenses; Step 3 If you have vacation planned in the future, you will be able to pre-plan your vacation expenses; Step 4 is preparing your monthly budget including any applicable expenses in Steps 1 thru 3; Step 5 is examining 19 household expenses that could potentially be reduced or eliminated to return income back into your household.
Elaine will communicate with the participant on the 5-step approach and follow up with participant to answer any questions. Elaine will provide coaching communication as needed for successful execution of the budget planner.
Phase II (Optional Participation)
A good household budget is where incoming income meets all expenses and there’s money left over for savings. If the household budget is in the negative each month, Elaine will provide information on a Plan B income source.
